Separation Agreements: Your Rights and Options
Please note: Legal information may not be up to date
This booklet explains the law about the fair division of family property or debt when spouses separate, and what you can do if you believe your agreement might be unfair. It provides information about:
- How to prepare a financial statement for court
- How to manage your case and work with a lawyer
- Where to get free legal help
Separation Agreements was originally published in 2013 in English and in 2014 in Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Punjabi, Spanish, and Tagalog.
West Coast LEAF was grateful to partner with Legal Aid BC to revise and reprint the English version of Separation Agreements. The legal information in the booklet was reviewed for accuracy in 2021.
Unfortunately, Separation Agreements is no longer available in print.
