Letters to BC government on key priorities for women
On July 21, 2017, West Coast LEAF wrote to members of BC’s new Cabinet to let them know about three critical actions they can take to immediately improve the lives of women in BC.
We sent three letters:
- One to the new Attorney General to take immediate action to improve legal aid coverage and ensure that all British Columbians can meaningfully enforce their legal rights.
- One to the province’s first ever Minister of State for Child Care to let her know that we welcome the opportunity to work with her on solutions to BC’s child care crisis, including the implementation of the $10aDay plan and the creation of a new funding category through Child Care Operating Funding.
- And one to the new Minister of Health to urge him to improve women’s access to health and reproductive care by providing universal coverage for Mifegymiso.
