Equality Breakfast 2026 Volunteers
Are you passionate about gender equality and social justice? Would you like to contribute to the success of a large-scale fundraising event?
West Coast LEAF is looking for volunteers to help with day-of organization of our annual fundraising event, the 2026 Equality Breakfast on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
West Coast LEAF works to advance equality in BC for women and people who are discriminated against because of their gender. We do this through legal education programs, advocating for law reform, and conducting equality rights litigation. The Equality Breakfast is West Coast LEAF’s largest annual event, and the biggest fundraiser for gender equality in the province. To get a preview of what this event will be like, check out our past Equality Breakfasts. We need your assistance to make it happen!
The volunteer roles will include:
Raffle Auction Attendant/Processor
- Assist guests in purchasing raffle tickets, and ensure guests receive their items at the end of the event.
Fund Development
- Facilitate the fundraising portion of the event by collecting cheques and pledge cards from guests.
Usher
- Guide guests to their tables and answer any questions about seating
Volunteering for this event is a fantastic opportunity to network with people in the gender-justice sector, as well as lawyers, judges, and politicians. Volunteers will also be able to hear the keynote conversation with Tracey Lindberg, a professor, award-winning scholar and best-selling author of Birdie (2015) and The Cree Word for Love: Sâkihitowin.
In addition, we will provide a letter of reference upon request and one year of complimentary membership at West Coast LEAF.
Time Commitment:
- Attend ONE of the mandatory orientation sessions at our Vancouver office:
- Thursday, February 19th, 6pm -8pm OR
- Tuesday, February 24th, 6pm- 8pm
- An early start! Volunteer shift on March 6 will be from 5:30am -10:30am
