Equal Pay Day is coming up on April 16th. This day draws attention to the entrenched systemic inequity in pay earned by men vs women by symbolizing how far into the current year a woman must work to earn what a man earns in the previous year on average. That works out to working 106 more days to earn the same pay as men based on 2023 figures.

This form of inequality is known as the “pay gap” and it is much worse for women and gender-diverse people who are Indigenous, racialized, migrants, disabled, older or are caregivers. Pay inequality has serious consequences for economic justice and well-being for racialized and gendered people.

Join us to hear from panelists on why and how we can address pay inequality and pursue economic justice and well-being for racialized and gendered people in BC.

Stay tuned for an update on speakers!
